East Stroudsburg University’s Department of Speech, Language, & Hearing Sciences is searching for a Tenure Track Assistant/Associate Professor (SLHS, with responsibilities as Clinic Director of the ESU Speech and Hearing Center). This is a 12-month faculty appointment beginning August 2026. Located in the beautiful Pocono Mountains of Pennsylvania, ESU’s proximity to New York City and Philadelphia provides convenient access to professional markets, careers, and social activities. Just minutes from campus are the country’s largest water parks, scenic Delaware Water Gap Recreation Area, Appalachian Trail, and other opportunities for recreational fun.

The successful candidate will teach undergraduate and graduate courses, supervise graduate clinicians, and provide leadership and administration for the ESU Speech and Hearing Center. The Department offers undergraduate and graduate programs leading to a BS in Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences and an MS in Speech-Language Pathology. The graduate program is accredited by the Council on Academic Accreditation (CAA) of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA). Through face-to-face instruction and on-campus and external clinical experiences, students develop the knowledge and skills necessary for professional practice in speech-language pathology.

To be successful in this position, the individual must demonstrate excellence in teaching, clinical supervision, program development, and service, while supporting accreditation standards and contributing to the academic and organizational life of the University.

Qualifications

  • Doctoral degree (Ph.D. or Ed.D) in Communication Sciences and Disorders, Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences, or a closely related field; ABD candidates or master’s-level candidates with extensive supervisory experience may be considered.
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association.
  • Pennsylvania Professional License in Speech-Language Pathology or eligibility for licensure.
  • Extensive experience in clinical supervision, preferably with graduate student clinicians.
  • Completion of ASHA-required supervisory and ethics training.
  • Demonstrated understanding of ASHA accreditation standards and KASA requirements.
  • Ability to teach and supervise in accordance with accreditation and licensure standards.
  • Has a valid active professional liability insurance.
